The position at a glance

The BNP Paribas USD Clearing and Payments activity has a mandate to ensure that there is effective management of USD clearing and payments (“USD Clearing”) activities and related end-to-end controls in BNP Paribas’ NY Branch (the “NY Branch”). In addition, the activity has a global mandate executed by the Clearing and Payments Oversight (“CPO”) team to document the sustainability of the remediation done during the Roosevelt program and as such “secure US Dollar exposure to better protect the bank” via its first line of defense.

By Group Supervisory Control Committee (‘GSCC”) decision, CPO “is responsible for the first level controls of clearing and payments activities for BNPP New York Branch but also that […] will be responsible for the production of a consolidated analysis of the Financial Security Control Framework implemented by the BNP Paribas Affiliates, in order to ensure the quality of the standards designed under the Roosevelt program. »

USD Clearing & Payments Oversight (CPO) is a first line of defense control team, monitoring permanent controls around clearing activity for all BNPP Group entities and business lines, along the entire value chain of USD flows.

The CPO team activities are summarized as follow:

  • Permanent monitoring of the Group’s financial security framework within the first line of defense’s US Dollar activities
  • U.S. Dollar Flows monitoring  

In detail 

Project Management responsibilities :

o   Define and document project scope, objectives and desired outcome

o   Provide project updates to stakeholders as per demand and requirement

o   Perform regular assessment of project execution to identify areas for improvement

o   Be aware of industry best practices, techniques and standards, and encourage team members to use them for effective project execution

o   Ensure project delivery is on time, as per scope and within the allocated budget

o   Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data

o   Interpreting complex data, identifying patterns and trends, and creating detailed reports to inform decision making

o   Extracting meaningful insights and trends from raw data and presenting them clearly and concisely

Operational Oversight responsibilities:

Affiliates Dashboard

o   Assist in the data gathering and consolidation of Financial Security control results from the USD Clearing network affiliates along with input from Compliance and IG

o   Deep dive analysis, action plan follow-up and fact checking

o   Contribute to the Dashboard presentation to the Affiliate Account Certification Committee

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed 

  • STEM education degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Knowledge of the English is required
  • Detail-oriented; Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Three to five years’ experience in positions related to project management or data science 
  • Minimum knowledge of the financial / banking industry and of the bank’s operations, in general
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices
  • Knowledge in data science, data management, business intelligence or big data concepts
  • Technical skills: reporting tools including but not limited to Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects
