The mission of the position is the following one:
- Primary responsibility is the development of credit applications, both for new deals and annual reviews of existing clients.
- Review of financial covenant compliance.
- Monitor existing clients and apply analytical techniques in identifying early warning signs of operating and financial deterioration.
- Contribute to the harmony and objectives of the team.
Here is a preview of the tasks and the responsibilities of the position:
- Present all new, renewed and reviewed transactions in a concise, balanced, well structured bank-approved format. Defend proposals in Credit Committee in a thorough well-balanced fashion.
- Promptly investigate and report any potential increase in risk or deterioration in asset quality.
- Complete annual reviews in a timely manner.
- Gather financial or other data (account history, company and industry information, credit agency reports, etc).
- Perform industry analysis, financial statements analysis, cash flow analysis, sensitivity analysis and balance sheets breakdowns.
- Prepare all documents required for presentations of credit files.
- Participate, when required, to internal discussions.
- Attend client / Bank meetings with the Relationship Managers.
- Take initiative to develop and recommend procedures to increase operating efficiencies.
Requested profile :
- Post Graduate business degree and/or a professional designation in either accounting or finance
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Credit and financial analysis
- CFA or Accounting Designation (asset)
- Knowledge of banking/capital markets’ products
- Good knowledge of accounting principles
- Industry knowledge and knowledge of general business and economic conditions.
